WHY SHE DOES IT

“Serving those in the music industry with my sincere care and practical skill set is my THANK YOU on behalf of the whole world for helping people heal through the power of music. Musicians give so much to create the universal language of music and help the world every day, Having a practical skill set that can serve artists, crews and music lovers while in return protecting their art and perception of sound is a privilege.

In 2009 I went through a very dark time. In that time music was the only thing that made my soul come alive. It helped me use people’s concern as motivation to be resilient. I earned my doctorate, started my business, became licensed and do all that I do now in order give back to an underserved population that has greatly served me: those in the music industry.

I often share my “why” briefly when working with people so they too can re tap into the unique expression of their own “why” and human experience. It is the reason I am passionate about what I do, take it seriously and am mobile making the experience easy for people.

The Art of Hearing is not merely a passion, it is a calling. I use my love for connecting with people, education, practical skills, and license to reduce the stigma of hearing devices for anyone exposed to loud music and noise. It is proving to make the concept “cool” as audiences see artists they look up to protecting their ears as well.

I was trained in a white coat in a clinic, yet, in order to make for a comfortable experience for artists, I am mobile and prefer to wear my leather coat. Professionalism, authenticity and excellence are qualities I seek to embody.

In my honest opinion, protecting your hearing is arguably the best investment a person can make on behalf of their art if they want to make amazing music. Anyone can have the best talent or equipment, but if they can’t hear to use them properly the end product is easily proven to be less than ideal. Being proactive to use proper hearing protection or in ear monitors is a quality of life investment and worth it!

I am learning in this day and age that in addition to being able to accurately hear your world, actually listening to those in it is perhaps equally as valuable. It may arguably be one of the biggest reasons we have ears… not just to hear but to listen. I invite you to join me in fostering the global need for healing and connection through the universal language of music.

Below is a little gift from me to you. It is a slice of the heaven I am connected to flowing through to bless you. May your tears turn to smiles and sadness to joy.”

With pleasure,

Lindsey “Swan” McEvoy, Au.D
